What others have said

By nature and training I am analytical and critical so I went to this day with my eyes and mind very open but with a degree of caution in my heart.

Let me tell you, I have learnt more in those eight hours than I have in almost 50 years of playing and teaching golf. Why? Because not only is Bruce well versed in the intricacies of putting, he also has a great insight into this game. Added to that, he can get his message across.

So what did I find out? I found that everything that Bruce presented was based on logic and experience, that his arguments were underpinned by sound reasoning and that, as well as being easy to understand, he made good sense.

My whole way of thinking and playing on the course has changed for the better.

Hi Bruce,

I played 12 holes yesterday.

Putting vastly improved. No putts up to 4 feet missed and several 8 footers holed.

Only area needing more very serious work is the long putts.

The number of short putts which I would probably have missed in the past is now down to ZERO.
I still need to improve the revs at the hole – still just holing at around 2 revs.

Your “secrets” have helped with my confidence and results.

Many thanks and rest assured I will keep at it.

Kindest regards,

Peter Hansman

Andrew McCormack won by 2 shots over 12-time GLT Champion and former Canadian Tour winner Martin Price at Pre-Season Shootout. This marked McCormack’s first win as a professional and low tournament round against a field of seasoned veterans and top young talent expected to make waves on the GLT this season. The win was worth $4933.50 in entry fees for McCormack.

The course and weather conditons were ideal for this time of year. McCormack started on the back nine and began his round with 3 birdies to set his pace for the day. McCormack credited his victory to his work with PuttingZone Canada, where he became a certified instructor this past winter. PuttingZone Canada recentely signed on as the GLT Match Play Championship presenting Sponsor. McCormack had not planned to play the full season on the Tour, but now is excited about the opportunity to compete among the regions top playing professionals.

LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR:
(Club de Campo Mediterráneo, Castellón, Spain – Friday 11th May 2007)
Australia’s Nikki Garrett shot a seven-under-par 65 to establish a one shot lead after the second round of the Ladies Spanish Open in Castellón.

The 23-year-old, who won her first Ladies European Tour title at last week’s Tenerife Ladies Open, was in contention for her second victory in as many weeks.

Garrett made a fast start, with three birdies and an eagle at the par-five eighth, where she hit her five-wood approach to seven feet and rolled in the putt. I’ve never shot seven-under before,” said Garrett.
Garrett took three putting lessons with NSW based Bruce Howard, known as “The Putting Guru” before she came to Europe and she added: “I’ve taken a few positive things out of that. My concentration goes up about 99 percent when I’m on the golf course.”

(Garrett went on to win this event and was runner up in the next event. Garrett’s putting average before her 3 sessions was 31.33 and at years end was 29.5)

Here’s my testimonial about my 63 on Wednesday 3rd September 2008 after our session. The process is remarkable. I played a round of golf with Bruce on Monday, and while not much was said during our round except for some small talk, he watched me play and saw how I worked on the course. After the round Bruce told me everything looked great and he said “there’s no reason why you shouldn’t shoot 65 or 66 every time you tee it up.” He suggested that we have a follow-up session with me ASAP to refresh some techniques with the PuttingZone process. The following Wednesday morning we met for over two hours and worked on consolidating the techniques. After our session I became fully committed to the process and applied it in my round of golf that afternoon. Needless to say, everything became easy. I was hitting the ball tee to green as solid as I ever have and on the greens the putts were falling in with perfect speed every time. I shot a course record tying and career low score of 63 at Lowville Golf Club. I had 2 eagles and 6 birdies…. 27 putts… and four putts were made from over 30 feet.
Jim Kenesky CPGA,

Ben has been working for the past year with Putting Guru Bruce Howard but for the past 2 months committed to a regular fortnightly session.
Webb said prior to working with Bruce Howard his putting average was above 32 and thanks to Bruce Howard he now regularly has 30 putts or less per round.
Ben started playing at the age of 10 and now in his fifth year in the Jack Newton Foundation has amassed a total of 14 major age wins. Most recently was his win at the Muswellbrook Junior Masters with rounds of 74-71.
Ben’s two career bests are; unofficial course record 65 at Forbes with 25 putts and a 67 in the Parkes Monthly Medal in May 2007. (One short of equaling the course record.)

S4C Wales Ladies Championship of Europe 16th Aug – 19th Aug 2007
Gold Coast based, South Korean teenage sensation Amy Yang, threatened to challenge the course record of 11-under-par — set by England’s Kirsty Taylor in 2005. The 18-year-old, who is also the Ladies European Tour’s youngest member, fired five birdies on the back nine, which she played first, and then another four on the front nine, for joint second place after two rounds.
After an unsatisfactiory putting performance in the US Ladies Open, Amy decided to have two sessions with NSW based Putting Guru Bruce Howard, before returning to play the Evian, Scandinavian and Wales Championships.
9 birdies – 24 putts
